There are two ways to make gravy, using a flour slurry or a roux. I will show you how to make the turkey gravy both ways and how to make a rich broth for the gravy. How to Make THE BEST Turkey Gravy from Scratch

INGREDIENTS: Slurry Gravy
4 cups of turkey broth
3/4 to 1 cup water
1/4 cup flour
salt and black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. Gravy Kitchen Bouquet for color – optional

Bring to boil, add slurry, bring back up to boil and reduce to simmer.
Cook and stir occassionally for 20 minutes or until 1/3 reduced.
Add Kitchen Bouquet and stir (optional)
Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

INGREDIENTS: Roux Gravy
4 cups of turkey broth
3 tbsp. turkey fat or butter
1/4 cup flour
salt and black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. Gravy Kitchen Bouquet for color – optional

In a pan on medium heat add turkey fat and flour. Stir and cook for
2-3 minutes. Gradually add turkey broth (in about 3 batches) and
each time bring to boil.
Reduce to simmer, cook and stir occassionally for 20 minues or until
1/3 reduced.
Add Kitchen Bouquet and stir (optional)
Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
